Following a letter today from the HPSC to the ASTI refusing the union’s request for a meeting, the ASTI has written to the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly asking him to intervene to secure such a meeting to discuss the re-opening of schools for those in the “high risk” category.

The ASTI is receiving a significant number of calls from teachers whose illnesses include chronic kidney disease, cancer, and serious heart disease and who are required to return to school.
