Typography and Layout

This is the Masthead. Another maybe more correct term is a lead, an opening or leading paragraph to the rest of the article.

— By Jeroen Bos

The author’s photo and caption should be right aligned, inserted at the start of the first paragraph (where the dropcap is) have a custom width of 190px and link to none.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he first main paragraph of the article should have a dropcap. The rest of the article should not use dropcaps.

The following paragraphs will be in dummy text to create some content, but scroll down for more explanations.

Auctor elementum habitasse magnis massa magna amet magna! Cum ridiculus mus adipiscing a tincidunt in parturient? Massa lorem sed ac dapibus. Ac a cras, turpis nec integer risus. Dolor turpis, ac a. [click_to_tweet tweet=”Click to Tweet blocks are used to create some sort of quote from the text enabling visitors to tweet important parts of the text.” quote=”Click to Tweet blocks are used to create some sort of quote from the text enabling visitors to tweet important parts of the text.”]

Links to other webpages should be inside understandable text. Do not use the URL as clickable text. So do not make links like this…
The Appyness Online (https://zeeko.ie/appynessonline/) platform is targeted at principals in primary schools. Instead do like this…

In case you want to emphasize text that is important to stick out, but isn’t a quote you can use to make the text bold and indent it.

Then you have a situation where you are quoting what somebody said. This should be set in italics and indented. An example is shown below.

Professor Dumbledore said:

“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.”

In other cases you can just use the conventional way inside a paragraph as in, Professor Dumbledore said: “Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.”

Images elsewhere in the article can be right or left aligned. They should have a maximum width of 400 pixels
